Choosing and Hiring DJs or Music Groups for a Party
A bad DJ or perhaps band at your occasion could make or break it. Choosing the right DJ or even band may be less difficult than you realized. The initial item to consider is what kind of event that you are hosting.
Is it a kid’s birthday party, a family reunion or a wedding? Contemplate whether you have specific songs that you want played or if event tracks are your only necessity.
If you’re hosting a wedding, you will want happy love songs, not depressing heart-broken songs played at the reception. Similarly, at a kid’s party, you do not want tunes that refer to unacceptable acts or bad speech, with a room full of 8 year olds.
Should you be renting a venue outside of your house, ask the location manager if they provide a DJ or music group with the room. Typically these can be hired for a discounted price using the venue rental. When they don’t staff a DJ or band, they are often able to recommend one that works with the venue frequently they feel would be suitable and not too pricey.
Whenever they do not have a suggestion, there are several things to consider. What is the amount of people who will be going to your function? How many speakers will be essential for the music to be heard clearly through the entire venue space? Will you be needing lighting? Several DJs will have these things that you can rent from them also. Or you may need to rent them from a neighborhood music store.
Several bands or DJs will have an advance payment that they demand in order for you to book them for your function. Try to look for one relatively early in the party planning, so that you know beforehand what you will need to invest in the music for the occasion. Ask your friends, family members or your co-workers if they have strategies for bands or DJs they’ve used in the past.
It will help you to determine which ones to contact and which ones are best to avoid. While contacting a DJ or band, request references and video clips of previous occasions that they have worked. Do they have the equipment that is required for your event? Ask if they are going to charge extra for songs that you would like performed specifically if it is beyond their usual collection.
Some DJs might have party favors that they give out to the party guests, or you might be required to buy those as extra supplies. Let the DJ or perhaps band know exactly just how long they are required to stay for the event. A number of DJs charge by the hour although some charge per occasion. You do not want to be caught off guard with additional charges that you were not expecting at the conclusion of the evening.
